COAT OF ARMS

The school's coat-of-arms shows a shield with two fields welded together by thick gilding. Below the shield is a sash bearing the school motto, Duc ad veritatem (Lead towards the Truth).

The left field is a reprise of the coat-of-arms of PAREF, the organization that founded the school. The vinta, a native Philippine watercraft, symbolizes a journey, embarking towards a destination. The three stars above it symbolize Parent, Teacher, and Student. The blue background refers to the nobility of the undertaking. The right field carries a golden rose, symbolizing femininity and strength. The red background signifies the feminine affinity to life, living vibrantly and nurturing others. It also stands for courage to pursue the truth.

The gilding indicates the unity between PAREF and Woodrose in their aims and aspirations. The gold shows the value given to the education the school provides.

The school motto "Duc Ad Veritatem" puts across the crucial importance of instilling in the girls, through their Woodrose education, universal, time honored and sound principles on which to base their lives on and to rally them to take on the commitment to teach and transmit these principles to the people they cross paths with. They will then act as beacons of truth to the people around them.

The name of Woodrose was taken from a flower of the same name. The Woodrose is a fresh yellow blossom at maturity. After it is cut at the stem, it rapidly turns into wood, looking like an exquisitely carved wooden rose. At this stage, it is hardy, thus symbolizing the strength of character and integrity that characterize the Woodrose spirit.
