Father-Daughter Bonding

Dads of Grade One students took time out from their daily work on August 3, 2016 to prioritize their most important job: Fatherhood.

Studies have shown that girls with actively involved fathers are more confident, emotionally-stable, and successful in school and at work. However, when dads work long hours and daughters have lots of extra-curriculars, spending time with each other can become a challenge.

The Father-Daughter activities in Woodrose are organized to nurture their special bond and make wonderful memories together. Fathers also greatly benefit from the parenting workshops designed to help them grow in their parenting skills and support them in the critical role they play in the lives of their daughters. For the Grade One Dads, it started with guest speaker, Manuel Escasa, engaging them in a lively discussion on the “Languages of Love: Understanding and Being Understood.”

After the talk, the fathers eagerly joined their daughters for some fun activities. They tried their hands at playing kiddie games much to the delight of the students and watched proudly as their daughters treated them to heart-warming song and dance numbers. The activity ended on a high note with one dad remarking, “Thank you for inviting us. It was super tiring but super fun as well.”

It was a happy bonding experience for the fathers and daughters, an occasion that they will surely remember in the years to come.
