INTRODUCTION
Woodrose has the goal of giving the students a complete intellectual, human, spiritual, cultural and physical formation in an atmosphere of personal freedom and responsibility . Thus, the personal formation program is geared towards the development of the whole person, distinct but not separate from academics.
Woodrose also extends formation to those who are likely to play a role in the process of a student's development. The personal formation program includes the means of augmenting the aptitudes of the parents and teachers as role models and educators of character. St. Josemaría Escrivá, the founder of Opus Dei and the inspiration of PAREF schools, envisioned that the recipients of personal formation should follow this order: "First, the parents, then the teachers, last but not the least, the students." This is echoed by the educational philosophy advocated by all PAREF schools, that the parents are the primary educators of their children. |
